There are three basic types of cnc machining centers for the wood working industries.
The first is the pod and rail style machine, which is also referred to as a point to point cnc router. This machine is based on parts having been already cut and square by another machine such as a beam saw. The parts are then transferred to the point to point, and the machine continues to either shape them into something other than a square, drill them, and/or even saw them. Some of these machine can also apply edgebanding.
